Preparation:
Note: Do not use Perfection on flexible constructions. Will crack on carvel and clinker/ lapstrake hulls. Perfection should not be used over any one-pack products. Not suitable for permanently immersed surfaces.

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: In Good Condition: Wash down with Yacht Line Super Cleaner, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 280-320 grade (grit) paper.
In Poor Condition: Remove all previous coatings and prime the substrate.
PRIMING: All preparation for bare substrates is covered on the appropriate primer datasheet.
BARE WOOD: Prime with UCP.
STEEL: Prime with Interprotect.
ALUMINIUM: Pre-prime using Etch Primer. Prime with Interprotect.
GRP: Wash down with Yacht Line Super Cleaner, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 180-220 grade paper. No priming necessary.
ALL SUBSTRATES: Use Perfection Undercoat.

Application:
  1. Abrade undercoat (220-320grade) and remove dust.
  2. Stir part A and B well. Mix part A and B in 2:1 mix ratio (do not mix in the same vessel with previous 2.67:1 mix ratio Perfection, and do not apply on the same job).
  3. Add thinner up to 5%, stir and leave for 20 minuets.
  4. Apply 1-2 coats.
  • Do not use unless mixed thoroughly with the curing agent at specified ratio.
  • Stir contents of each part prior to mixing, add Curing Agent to the Base, stir and leave for 10 minutes to allow bubbles to disperse.
  • When applying by roller smooth off with a pad or brush.
  • For lighter colours, mix the first coat of finish 50:50 with the undercoat to improve the depth of colour and opacity.
  • Avoid painting in direct sunlight.
  • Avoid applying late in the evening as condensation can cause a loss of gloss during overnight cure.

  • Apply in dry, well ventilated conditions.
  • Avoid excessively humid conditions, over 80% relative humidity.
Temperatures:
  • Product temperature should be minimum 15°C and maximum 35°C.
  • Ambient temperature should be minimum 5°C and maximum 30°C.
  • Substrate temperature should be minimum 5°C and maximum 30°C.

Goes on very easily &40;quite thin without thinners&41; and brush marks tend to disappear with some laying off with the brush. High gloss finish. Expensive but covers a good area.

This is an excellent paint. Long enough drying time, perfect white and nice shiny gloss finish. Easy to mix if smaller quantities are needed. It felt a bit runny though, even if I applied carefully a very thin coat.
